The broad spiritual interpretation of the law has brought the Jews of the Old Testament to gnosticism. “Gnosis” means knowledge. But the intent look, i.e. scientific examination of creation (for “God’s invisible qualities are understood from what have been made”) brought them to occultism and occultism is a strictly investigated and proved examination of God, universe and man.

Gnosticism is a teaching of “getting into a shell” of a word letter to extract its mysterious spiritual meaning. Gnosticism, as a teaching, can be explained by the following proverb: “I went down to the grove of nut trees to look at the new growth in the valley”, - it is written in Solomon’s Song of Songs. This verse like the key opens the door to the very essence of gnosticism. It is not enough to just “go down to nut trees” if you see them but can not touch them. In order to eat fruits of the precious garden you should be able to open up tough nut shell. And this abstract describes the essence of gnosticism in the best way:

(Zogar): “Woe to a man who sees in the Law nothing except for simple stories and usual words! For if the Law indeed had nothing more, we would, even today, make another Law, fully worth of worship in some other relation. Seeing nothing more besides usual words we could at least turn to the law-makers of the earth, whom people find even mightier. It would be enough for us to just imitate them and create the Law according to their words and example. But the reality is different: each word of the Law contains an exalted meaning and superior mystery. Tails of the Law are its coating. Woe to the one who takes the coating for the Law! In this sense David has told: “Open my eyes, so that I may behold wonderful things out of Your law.” David meant to say of what was latent under clothes of the Law. There are madmen, who seeing the man dressed in good clothes do not take further look, while it is the body that gives value to clothes, but soul is even more valuable. The Law also has its body; there are commands which can be called as a body of the Law. Ordinary tails that are mixed up with them are clothes, which this body is covered with. Simpletons do not stop at anything else, except for coatings and tails of the Law. They do not know any other thing, they do not see what is hidden under this veil. But more educated people do not stop at a veil, but they do so at a body, which is covered it. At last, the wise men, servants of Supreme King, of The one who lives at heights of Zion, deal only with soul which is a foundation of everything else, which is the Law, as such; in the future times they will be prepared for contemplating the soul of this soul, which is breathing in the Law”.
And more (S.d-Alveydr): “What you think is a full meaning of Moses thought is only its roughest interpretation. You are fighting against phantoms, against the veil of Izida, but the goddess is behind you, smiling and loving.”

Gnosticism is a teaching that rejects Christ as the Son of God. It does it by minimizing Him to the number of “saviors” of angels’ and human type. Gnostics do not formally reject a special and exalted position of Christ in Heavenly hierarchy. But in reality, by depreciating Him to the multitude of “christs” whom they consider themselves to be, (as the ones who have received the eternal Word) they disparage Him. If salvation is possible through many “christs” crucifying themselves for those who are to be saved like Jesus did, then Christ is humiliated. None of the apostles said that he is “christ”, but “belong to Christ” and by this Christ is exalted.

In its time the occult gnosticism as a scientific examination of God, universe and man set the Jews free from the greatest predestination of God for His Israel: (Moses) “ Therefore take good heed to yourselves, for you saw no kind of likeness on the day the LORD spoke to you in Horiba out of the midst of the fire, lest you act corruptly and make yourselves a graven image, the likeness of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish in the waters beneath the earth; and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, lest you should be driven to worship them and serve them, which the LORD your God has allotted to all nations under all the heavens. But the LORD has taken you to be to Him a people of inheritance. When you father sons and sons of sons, and when you shall have remained long in the land and have dealt corruptly by making a graven image, the likeness of any, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD your God, to provoke Him to anger, I call Heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land which you are crossing over Jordan to possess. You shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.”

How should we understand the words: “graven image, likeness”? We proclaim that these words should be understood as occultism symbolic. But what is the occultism symbolic? It is a secret writing, coded language in which “the Judaic god” was telling Israel his truths.

Since the old days until now the Jews are disobedient to this determination. For example, the Jews – cabalists do know about this will of God but they attach to it only their broad spiritual interpretation. (V. Shmakov: Lassos of Taro) “Before creating any kind of form or image in this world, He was alone, had no shape, was Incomparable, Unlike anybody else. And who can imagine what He was like back then, before creation, for He had no shape? That’s why it was forbidden to represent Him by any kind of image, any kind of existing form, even through His Holy Name, even through a letter or a point.” Here is the meaning of these words: “ You saw no kind of likeness on the day the Lord spoke to you”, - that is you saw no thing (attributes of God) which you could represent by any kind of form or image. But when He had made a Heavenly Man He used Him to go down. He desired to be called by this form, and this name of His is a Holy Name of Jehovah; He desired to be known through His attributes, through each separate attribute, and He partook of the names: God of Mercy, God of Justice, God Almighty, God of the Heavenly hosts and of the One Who is. His providence was expressed in a desire to be understood through His Qualities and through His Justice and Mercy to uphold the authority over both the world and peoples’ deeds. For if He has not lit up all creation with His Leading Light, how could we know Him? How could be right the word, that all the earth is full of His Glory? Woe to the one, who will dare to compare Him even with His own attribute! Moreover, He can’t be compared with man, who came to the earth and doomed to death. (V.M. it’s talking about Jesus Christ). He should be understood above all His creation and all His attributes. For when we lift up to this height there is no more attributes, no images, no forms.”

By saying so, the Jews only prove the truthfulness of our statements. In the phrase: “ For if He has not lit up all creation with His Leading Light, how could we know Him?, - is seen indeed, that for the Jews exist the only way of perceiving God and that is through God’s Qualities in reflected light of His creation. They reject the knowledge through Jesus Christ as the Firstborn among all creation. Besides we know out of certain sources, that the Jews really had prohibition to make “graven images”, i.e. in their understanding – image of a human body or animal in three-dimensional measuring, but they did not spread this prohibition on two-dimensional images, even though Moses talked about both “graven image” and “likeness”. Here is evident arbitrary attitude of the Jews toward commandments of God. They have worked hard introducing into symbolic of two-dimensional image both men and animals, as well as every real and inconceivable creature you can think of. They’ve done it even though they say that “it is forbidden to represent Him by any kind of existing form, even through His Holy Name, even through a letter or a point.”

And more. (A. Steinzalts) “Judaism forbids to make images, which can be used with ritual purpose. This ban extends not only to images of false gods or other objects of idol worship, but it is not allowed to portray the true God Himself and His angels in any form. This ban reflects the fundamental opposition to idol worship in its manifestations and it is expressed by refusal to make material image of God in any kind of form. But when we consider the language of prophets we understand deeper the meaning of this prohibition, since the quality of holy language to avoid abstract images and to prefer instead concrete symbols is reflected in it with a special power. There was a danger that “bringing down to land” holy symbols of Torah and especially of Cabala, when understood literally will lead to the wrong interpretation of Divine principles. That’s why the books Tanakh, Agada and Cabala are full of different anthropo – morphisms, which are used to describe all of world realities staying both lower and above man, and to describe Divine things also. One wise man had said that a soul is looking at the world through material prism for it is robed in flesh. Another word, in holy writings the world is pictured with the help of imagery system, comparing all its essences with parts of human body. We can say that all creatures of the world both highly organized and primitive serve as symbols and models of different life aspects of superior worlds; however the relationship between different sides of life find their reflection only in the image of man. The whole world consists of models and symbols united into the complete picture according to the will of Creator. Not only human body, but every object in material world serves as a certain symbol. For instance, there is a special meaning in every spectrum color and relation between them (V.M. stars, planets), and also fruits, flowers, all living creatures, even minerals – everything has its own individual symbolic meaning and in the same time they form united grand system, components of which influence each other. Since human body, just as his soul, is connected to the highest essences, the language of Cabala often uses parts of human body to describe what is happening in another worlds. But when using anthropomorphic symbolic it is necessary to be extremely cautious trying to give concrete physical interpretation to the highest essences. Only the people who have penetrated into the secrets of universe are given to perceive to what extent different worlds reflect each other, what is the likeness between physical and spiritual worlds. Only these people can make their way through secret paths to the concrete reality and they lead them to the highest worlds. Or they can see symbols and models of the highest words in something that really exists, it brings them step by step to the Top and Source of all life levels. But it is necessary to emphasize that all these anthropomorphic images are only allegory, it is not a literally description of reality. That’s why any image making of a holy essence was forbidden.”

That means, no cabalist in the world will think that he assimilates God to “a graven image, the likeness of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish in the waters beneath the earth” and that he worships them. He will neither think that he worships “the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven”. No cabalist will think that he breaks Moses’ commandment which tells: “You shall not make to yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I the Lord your God am a jealous God.”?

No cabalist in the world will consider that the words of prophet Ezekiel relates to him, he will not consider that he identifies God with “images of creeping and unclean animals and every idols”. But it only proves that the Jews do not believe Moses and prophets. (Ezekiel) “And He said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes now to the way of the north. So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and behold, northward at the gate of the altar the image of jealousy was at the entrance. And He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they do; even the great abominations which the house of Israel is doing here, that I should go far off from My sanctuary? But turn again, and you shall see greater abominations. And He brought me to the opening of the court; and I looked, and behold, a hole in the wall. And He said to me, Son of man, dig in the wall now. And I dug in the wall, and, behold, an opening. And he said to me. Go in and see the evil abominations that they do here. And I went in and saw. And behold, every kind of creeping thing, and hateful beast, and all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around. And seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and each man with his censor in his hand. And the odor of the cloud of incense was rising. He also said to me, You turn again, and you shall see greater evils that they are doing. And He brought me into the inner court of the Lord's house, and behold, at the opening of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east; and they bowed themselves eastward to the sun.”

So, through Moses God forbids the Jews to make likeness, images or graven images and allegories to perceive God, for God “showed them no image on that day”, but the Jews were working hard on making those. God through the prophet Ezekiel convicted the Jews of worshiping the host of Heaven which they were carrying out by making two-dimensional images, but they do not believe prophesies of Ezekiel till today.

But the apostle Paul says in such a way according to God’s truth: “For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness, because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them. For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts; for they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator.” To serve the created thing rather than the Creator means to worship the host of Heaven, i.e. to worship the six-final star of astrology where all signs of Zodiac are joined in, to worship its magic on its physical level on the earth.

The words of apostle Paul are naive and empty for every cabalist since cabalists are absolutely sure that they “did not change the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things; did not change the truth of God into a lie, and that they do not worship and serve the created thing more than the Creator.” They speak with sincerity and confidence: “Woe to the one who will dare to compare Him even with His own attribute. For when we are lifted up into the height, there is no more attributes, no images, no forms.” But where does this crying contradiction come from? It does show from many occult texts that occultists do not compare God to His creation, they put Him much higher than the created thing, hovering above His creation they do not try to identify Him with it. Although they say: “When He had made a Heavenly Man He used Him to go down. He desired to be called by this form, to be understood through His attributes, through each separate attribute. His providence was expressed in a desire to be understood through His Qualities”, - but still they positively separate God from His creation and do not directly worship “the created things rather than the Creator”. That means when they burn incense to the sun, the moon and the stars, or another word through the perception of God’s glory reflected in the sun, the moon and the stars, as well as through the created images and allegories, they undoubtedly to themselves worship the Most High God. And also when they burn incense to images of birds or animals they undoubtedly consider themselves worshiping the Most High God. Moreover, the Jews behave as if they were not worshiping the sun, the moon, the stars and images of birds and animals, but they check His reflected glory and laws against His creation, and by coding His creation in certain symbols, they are guessing in created symbolic His mysteries. It is said indeed, that “for the Godhead is seen, being realized by the things that are made”. So they are seeing God through symbolic of His attributes. Why then God was strictly holding Israel from “making images in order to worship them”? What kind of danger is hidden in it, why does God declare to those who will make images and worship them: “you will be destroyed”? The fact is that since the old days two directions were started up among the Jewish nation: the direction toward God and anti - direction toward the devil. These directions were dividing the nation and were uniting the Jews with pagans. During the time when God spoke to His people through prophets: “ Do not go into the way of the nations..., why go to Egypt to drink water from Shihor?”, the Jews took this commandment with unbelief.
